We moved to Maroubra Junction that was just fifteen minutes walking to the beach. There is a mall near and bus stop, so everything we wanted. The house was beautiful there is a big balcony where we put the barbecue. Perfect, every weekend we made a great barbecue there. These changes for better!!We were a good luck. Our flatmates were great who was a couple, one that is a Daniel’s cousin who called Marcinho and another one is his girlfriend who is Aussie called Tania. Then we could practice English all day. It was a good time!
Our home was wonderful like a Sao Paulo’s house there were great furniture, completed kitchen, bathroom with bath... so we didn’t worry about buy the things for home, it was helpfully, because this time was difficult to find a fix job, specially because we were doing English curse that was at daytime. So we could work only at nighttimes and weekend. Everyone at the school worry about how difficult was to find a job. I could not wait more, every day walking with my resume to look for a job and I was not finding this shit work as cleaner or waitress. I could not believe that.
However, Daniel was working all weekend where he was earning good money for us and I earned some money as well working in casual shift. We could pay the bill, ONLY!! And we didn’t know if we could pay or no, but always we got to pay. I had just casual job, than I never knew how much I would earn, sometime I worked every day during two weeks and next two weeks I worked once.
Most of the people told us that the first six months you just pay bills. Yeah, you can believe this it is true, NOT EASY! We could not plan anything; just we were living day by day.
That all right, we needn’t spend money because was summer and we was living tem minutes by foot from the beach so we enjoyed it. No money however we got a tan! And I got this opportunity to study English as well.
Nowadays, I think about that and the conclusion is... When you arrived in Australia you can earn money to travel, to learn English, to save money and there is opportunity for your career as well. But you will need time for doing this, not just in six months. That is what everyone wants when come here and that is what the travel agent is selling for us. So this is shit. You don’t know the own language of country, the customs, how do you live by yourself! How can you get a good job just in six months? Impossible!! TAKE A TIME!!
Because of this there are a lot of Brazilian who go back in six months without travel, English and money. Only strong people survive!
